The core musicians of the Verdant Collective were born in different cities around the world and first met miles away. They have since made their way to Vancouver, the place they now call home. In 2026, they were brought together by cellist Jonathan Lo and pianist Christine Ngai to form the Verdant Collective.

Captivating and charismatic both on and off the stage, our musicians were trained in the world's top institutions and have appeared in some of the world's most renowned venues in North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and the Middle East, including Carnegie Hall, The Metropolitan Opera, Museum of Modern Art (NYC), The Louvre, Beijing Concert Hall, Esterházy Palace, and Wigmore Hall.

Drawing on their diverse experiences and accomplishments, they present a vibrant mosaic of perspectives and are united by a shared passion for adventurous programming, chamber music, and of course, nature. Together, their diverse backgrounds offer a fresh take to Vancouver's artistic scene, inviting all audiences to experience new and underrepresented musical discoveries.
